The following table lists the typical MBT spark for common cylinder head/engine combinations, your engines MBT will vary. This table is provided to give a general idea of the MAXIMUM spark advance that a typical combination would want. It is not recommended to exceed these spark values given.

Note: It is often common practice to remove 1-2+ degree of timing for 91 octane, 3-4+ degrees for 89 octane, and 7-9+ degrees for 87 octane.
It is recommended to remove 4 degrees from the above table for initial tuning.
West Coast Fuel - California, New Mexico, & Wyoming residents are recommended to pull out an additional 2-3 degrees when running pump gas.
